There are a number of ways to serve your community besides being a donor. The Bandera Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to serve as board members or committee members, or to volunteer a few hours for a special project. As an all-volunteer outfit, we understand what it means to share your precious time and talents. We also understand the rich rewards of sharing our time and talents for our community.
Board and committee members are representative of Bandera County's business, civic, and cultural diversity. Some of us are deeply involved in many aspects of community service. Others serve in some capacity with one or more nonprofit organizations. Still others are involved in only one area of service.
But we all share these common attributes: belief in the vision of the Bandera Community Foundation, integrity, exemplary personal and public standards, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to be good stewards of the funds entrusted to us.
BCF has the following committees: Executive, Nominating, Finance, Resource Development, Communications and Public Relations, Grantmaking, Volunteer Recruitment and Advisory. Typically, a board member serves as the chair of a committee. The rest of the committee is made up of one or more board members and other volunteers from the community.
You don't have to be an expert to serve on any of these committees. All we ask is that you bring your ideas, suggestions, and a willingness to learn. We'll supply the training to help you develop the skills you'll need to become a valued board or committee member.
If you're looking for a way to get involved in serving your community, just Contact Us to discuss the opportunities available for you with the Bandera Community Foundation. The return you receive for your service cannot be measured in words; and there are no material rewards. But we promise you that the results of what you do will give you intangible rewards that you never imagined, and they will last beyond your lifetime.
